The River Room has the delightful distinction of being accessible by car from US Highway 17 or boat from the Intracoastal waterway of South Carolina. The building fronts Georgetown's scenic harbor and is adjacent to the city's public dock. This Georgetown restaurant is popular with the local crowd, especially for its reasonably priced lunch specials, like the River Room's World Famous Shrimp and Grits. For dinner, there's an extensive wine list to go with chef's specials like Herb-Encrusted Grouper or delicious crab cakes made by Sally's own special crab cake recipe. All the seafood is fresh, in fact, it's right off the fishing boats of nearby Murrells Inlet just a short distance north of Georgetown South Carolina.

     Just as tasteful is the restaurant's ambiance. During the renovation of this Georgetown historic building, the original brick walls and heart-pine flooring were restored and a scenic glass porch overlooking Georgetown Harbor was added. South Carolina History buffs should peruse the framed documents and old photographs in the entry-way. They date to the late 1800's and were found in the attic during renovations.
